ISTANBUL, Turkey – It has finally arrived: game day.

A week’s worth of practices have led up to this very moment, when the 2012-13 Boston Celtics will have their first opportunity to take on an opponent. It’s only a preseason game, and it’s against Turkish professional team Fenerbahce Ulker, but it’s still the team’s first swing at live game action.

ISTANBUL, Turkey – Doc Rivers used the first five days of training camp to install his system and teach his newest players the Celtic Way. On the sixth day of camp, he let those players run wild.

Thursday’s sixth practice of the preseason was the first that featured extended scrimmage time. And by extended, we mean approximately two-thirds of the entire practice.

The Boston Celtics are looking for talented vocalists and musicians to perform the National Anthem at the team’s home games throughout the 2012-13 NBA season. Talented groups, instrumentalists, and other unique performers of all ages are invited to attend auditions on Thursday, October 11th from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Hard Rock Café in Boston. These auditions are presented by TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank.

WALTHAM, Mass. – There are a lot of NBA stat gurus who picked the Boston Celtics’ offense apart last season. They said the C’s were inefficient, that they played at too slow of a slow pace and that they couldn’t muster up enough points to keep up in this young, athletic league.

Don’t expect that to be the sentiment this season. At least not if Doc Rivers has his way.
