WALTHAM, Mass. – What is it that made Kevin Garnett who he is today?
That’s a loaded question, but on Thursday morning Garnett offered a rare glimpse into his development as a player and as a person over the past 20 years.
Garnett has had one interesting life. He spent all of his years in South Carolina before choosing to move to Chicago and attend Farragut Academy in Chicago, Ill., for his senior year of high school. That move changed Garnett’s life forever, both on the court and off.
LAWRENCE, Mass. – Members of the Celtics family hosted a gym renovation unveiling Thursday morning at the Alexander B. Bruce School in Lawrence. This event marked the second gym renovation donated by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation as part of last season’s 2011-12 players’ choice grant.
The basketball court in the school, which had not been renovated since its original creation in 1954, was refurbished with six brand new basketball hoops, new wall padding, several Boston Celtics wall graphics and a fresh hardwood floor.
