BOSTON - The Celtics arena experience changed dramatically at the Garden, and the Celtics.com user experience was revamped as well.
Celtics.com re-launches today with a whole new look and feel, but more importantly, a major overhaul under the hood. And it should be a lot easier to navigate behind the mouse as well.
Most notably, we've added a site search engine. So if you're dying to dig up Nate Driggers' scoring average or find old articles about Tony Battie, be our guest. Go ahead, dip into the archives. Fire up the Way Back machine. It's all here at your fingertips.
Mostly, though, we're here to give you the best available coverage of the current Celtics team. Who's currently leading the team in rebounding? What's Wally Szczerbiak's favorite color? Do you know where Sebastian Telfair calls home? Who is that new Celtics Dancer? You wanna download some wallpaper, or chat with Paul Pierce? And most importantly, how can you buy tickets to Opening Night? Celtics.com, that's how.
And we'll keep giving you more of the daily team coverage you love, with game-day notebooks from the Garden and practice reports from Waltham. And you can always get video highlights after the game directly on the homepage.
Among the more subtle improvements to the site is a wider layout, making the articles easier to read. And every page is printer friendly, so no more words falling off the edge of your paper. The navigation system has been reorganized and simplified, moved to the top of the screen for easy access.
Thanks to the adoption of standard web technologies like XHTML and CSS, the site loads much faster and is more accessible for fans with visual impairments or other disabilities.
There's plenty more to see, but we'll let you discover it for yourself. In the meantime, you may find a stray page here and there that's not acting right. Please bare with us as we iron out the kinks. It's preseason for the website too, you know!
Speaking of which, we've got a game tonight in Cleveland against LeBron and company. Be sure to check out our exclusive match-up preview and then come back after the game for a recap, box score and video highlights.
