Tony Allen Took Boston Students Grocery Shopping for Thanksgiving Dinner

BOSTON (November 23, 2009) - Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen took Boston students grocery shopping for their favorite Thanksgiving dinner, while teaching them about money and budgeting. Allen brought 15 students from the Timilty Middle School to Whole Foods in Boston and provided them with a $100 budget each to shop for their family's Thanksgiving dinner.

Allen helped the students shop and choose the main course, side dishes and desserts, while keeping track of each student's spending with a budget sheet. The students who participated in the Thanksgiving shopping event all come from families in need and were selected for showing great achievement in school.

"I had a lot of fun shopping with the students and it was interesting to see what the children picked for their Thanksgiving dinners," Allen said. "One student chose Alaskan King Crab for his main course! We had a great time walking around and picking groceries, as well as learning how to properly budget your money."
