Harbor Cruise raised more than $50,000 for BCSF
Boston (June 30, 2010) -- The Boston Celtics and Xfinity hosted a two-hour sunset harbor cruise last night on the Spirit of Boston to benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. Over 100 Celtics fans joined Celtics players Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Kendrick Perkins, Brian Scalabrine, and Celtics Legends Cedric Maxwell and Dana Barros for a night of fun and relaxation. Former "American Idol" finalist Ayla Brown was also in attendance.
All fans who purchased a ticket to board the ship, not only had the opportunity to contribute to the education and support of disadvantaged children, but also had the chance to live out the ultimate Celtics fan's dream of interacting with their favorite players. Glen Davis provided the highlight of the night, showing off his moves on the dance floor.
"It's always great to come out and support the Shamrock Foundation because it's all about giving back to the kids," Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins said. "It's fun to have the opportunity to spend some time with the fans away from the court."
The more than $50,000 raised will go directly to the various charitable organizations supported by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.
