Boston Celtics Thank Fans for Support During the 2008-2009 Season
BOSTON (April 13, 2009) - The Boston Celtics will thank fans for all their support during the 2008-2009 regular season by hosting Fan Appreciation Night at their final regular season home game on April 15. The game is also the 100th consecutive sellout at the TD Banknorth Garden dating back to October 17, 2007.
The Celtics and their partners have planned multiple exciting giveaways for fans in attendance, highlighted by Southwest Airlines randomly selecting 100 fans to win free roundtrip tickets anywhere Southwest flies; Qdoba will award a gift certificate for a free taco bar for a group of twenty; Massachusetts State Lottery will give two lucky rows free "Limited Edition 2008 NBA Champions Boston Celtics" instant tickets and Reebok will give a Reebok prize pack including a gift card, t-shirts and more.
"Fan Appreciation night is an opportunity for the entire Celtics organization to thank our fans, sponsors, and community partners for their incredible support throughout the year," Celtics President Rich Gotham said. "The 100 consecutive game sellout milestone is a reflection of our loyal fan base, and we are grateful for their continued support as we head into the playoffs in pursuit of Banner 18."
Along with the giveaways, Celtics All-Star Captain Paul Pierce will address the crowd prior to tip-off to thank fans for supporting the team throughout its second consecutive sixty (60) win season. There will also be multiple video board messages from Celtics players thanking the fans. Additionally, the team's opening video prior to the starting lineups will feature a montage of fan highlights in lieu of player highlights.
After the game ends, Celtics players will autograph sneakers and personally give them away to lucky fans. In addition, Irish musicians Celtic Thunder will perform the national anthem and fan-favorite dancing troupe Lil' Phunk will perform during the game.
