Reebok Youth Camps Return for Summer 2011
BOSTON (April 13, 2011) – The Boston Celtics, Reebok and BasketBall City announced the return of Reebok Youth Basketball Camps for summer 2011. This year marks the seventh year of the week-long camps for children between the ages of 8 –17. In addition to camps at BasketBall City in Boston, four weeks of camp will take place at the Celtics official practice facility in Waltham. And for the third straight year, a week of camp will be held at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.
“Our camps provide a safe and fun environment where boys and girls have the opportunity to learn the basics of Celtics basketball,” VP, Corporate Partnerships and Business Development Ted Dalton said.
“This year due to high demand we have added an additional week at the team practice facility in Waltham, bringing the total number of weeks to seven.”
The Celtics will continue their scholarship program this year and will award scholarships to the most deserving nominees who best exemplify being a team player, both on and off the court. Local youth can nominate themselves or their teammates, and basketball coaches, parents or friends can also submit nominations. Winners will be chosen by a panel of Celtics and Reebok representatives and will receive a scholarship to one week of camp.
"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the Celtics for another year to help provide programs for young kids to learn about the game of basketball." Reebok VP of Sports & Entertainment Marketing Dianne Hayes said.
