Rob Hale Joins Celtics Investor Group

BOSTON - The Boston Celtics announced today that Hingham resident Rob Hale has joined the Boston Celtics investor group. Mr. Hale is President of Granite Communications, a telephone middleware company headquartered in Quincy, Massachusetts.

“We are happy to welcome Rob and his family to the Celtics family as a part of our ownership group,” Celtics CEO and Co-owner Wyc Grousbeck said. “His entrepreneurial spirit as well as his demonstrated commitment to serving the New England community through various philanthropic efforts makes him a perfect fit with the Celtics.”

Founded in 2002, Granite Communications is an industry leader with a footprint that covers 94% of North America, revenues exceeding $650 million, 900 teammates, and servicing 86 of the Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Hale has been recognized as a leading entrepreneur by several organizations and publications including being awarded Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010. He also owns FoxRock Properties, a Boston-based commercial real estate firm with over 1 million square feet of space.

Mr. Hale serves on the Board of Trustees for Brigham & Women’s Hospital, the South Shore YMCA, the Massachusetts Soldier’s Legacy Fund, and Deerfield Academy. Also, he has been a Big Brother for 20 years and is a graduate of Connecticut College, Class of ’88.
