Dickau Undergoes Successful Surgery
BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that guard Dan Dickau had successful surgery to repair a ruptured right achilles tendon at New England Baptist Hospital. The surgery was performed by Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon and Dr. Mark Slovenkai.
Dickau suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Celtics game at Chicago December 17, 2005. He will be out indefinitely.
The 6-0 guard was acquired on September 30, 2005 in a deal that sent Miami’s 2006 second round draft choice to the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. Dickau has appeared in 19 games averaging 3.3 points and 2.1 assists in 12.3 minutes per game.
