Davis surprises 94 children from Massachusetts Social Services and takes them on a Toys "R" Us holiday shopping spree in Cambridge, MA
CAMBRIDGE, MA (December 19, 2005) - Celtics forward Ricky Davis helped make Christmas a little brighter this holiday season for 94 children from Massachusetts Social Services. Davis surprised the children at the Toys "R" Us in Cambridge, where he made special arrangements for the children to receive VIP service during their shopping. Davis was joined at the event by his fiancée and Celtics Women's Group member Vanessa Rameriz.
"The holidays are a special time of year for all of us, and I pleased that I am able to help these special children have a nice Christmas," Davis said. "I am fortunate to be in a position where I can go out into the community and try to help, and it is an honor for me to be able to do so here in the Boston-area."
With the help of Toys "R" Us, Davis provided each child with a $100 gift card to go shopping and tickets to an upcoming Celtics game. The children were also served food and refreshments at the store, and had an opportunity to pose for photos with Davis. In addition, Davis helped the children select toys and did a bit of his own holiday shopping.
