Celtics Sign Kevin Pittsnogle

The Boston Celtics announced today they have signed rookie free agent center Kevin Pittsnogle. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Named to the Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American team, the First Team All-Big East and to the John Wooden All-American team as a senior, the 6’11” Pittsnogle finished his four-year career at West Virginia University as the school’s sixth leading scorer with 1,708 points.

During his senior season, Pittsnogle led the team in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game. He scored a season- high 34 points against Canisius College. He started all 33 games and tallied 20 or more points 18 times and he averaged 17.0 points in three NCAA tournament games.

A native of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Pittsnogle shoots from long-range connecting on 41.1% (253-for-615) of his attempts from beyond the three-point line over his collegiate career.
