The Boston Celtics announced today that center Kendrick Perkins had successful arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder at New England Baptist Hospital. The surgery was performed by Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon, who was assisted by Dr. John Richmond and Dr. Alan Curtis.

Perkins was selected with the 27th pick overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. The Celtics acquired his draft rights from the Memphis Grizzlies on June 26, 2003. Perkins appeared in 68 games for the Celtics during the 2005-06 season, including 40 starts. He averaging 5.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 1.54 bpg last season.
