"We played them in the 1977 playoffs, Julius Erving¹s first year. The thing I remember was a tough seven games and a tough loss because we thought if we got by them, we could have beaten Portland in the NBA Final. Our plan was to make Sidney Wicks let Julius drive to the middle, so that we could give him help. That is how we planned to stop him. Needless to say, Julius drove the baseline and we didn¹t fare too well."
