Injury Updates on West, Gomes
BOSTON - None of the Celtics practiced with Doc Rivers on Thursday, but a few of them spent some time with doctors.
Delonte West, who suffered a mild concussion after a collision in Wednesday's game against the Rockets, spent the night at New England Baptist Hospital, but a CAT scan came back negative and he was released on Thursday.
West is listed as "day-to-day" and will be re-evaluated Friday.
Ryan Gomes had an X-ray on his mid left foot sprain, which also came back negative. He's considered "questionable" for Friday's game against the Seattle Supersonics and will be re-evaluated on Sunday before the Celtics meet the Chicago Bulls.
According to NBA.com, the Celtics will once again join the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks in donning their St. Patrick's Day alternate uniforms next week, starting with Sunday evening's game against the Bulls.
The C's special duds will also be on display at home against Atlanta (March 14), as well as throughout their three-game southern road swing against Dallas, San Antonio and New Orleans/Oklahoma City.
Ray Recalled; Wally's Surgery a Success
The Celtics recalled Allan Ray from the Austin Toros Friday after he spent two games with Boston's D-League affiliate. Ray averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two games for the Toros.
Meanwhile, Wally Szczerbiak's left ankle stabilization surgery was deemed a success this morning. Szczerbiak appeared in 32 games for the Celtics this year, averaging 15.0 points.
Chicago Game Time Change
Sunday's game against the Chicago Bulls, originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m., has been moved to 6:00 p.m. and will now be broadcasted on Fox Sports New England. The Celtics also remind fans to accomodate for Daylight Savings Time, which begins Sunday.
