Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon lanced and drained Paul Pierce's left elbow at New England Baptist Hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was sent home from Detroit this morning.
Pierce will stay at the hospital at least for a day for observation, and will be re-evaluated by Dr. McKeon on Wednesday.

Paul Pierce traveled to Detroit with the team on Monday, but he was sent home to Boston this morning with a fever and swelling in his left elbow.
Pierce will be evaluated by Dr. Brian McKeon upon his return to Boston this afternoon. Stay tuned to Celtics.com for more updates.
