Pre-Draft Workout Interview: Louis Hinnant

Celtics.com: So how'd the workout go for you today?

Hinnant: "The workout was pretty good, I got out here with some good guys like Will Blalock and Rajon Rondo, who's a projected first round pick. This is my first workout of four teams, so it was all a learning process for me. I'm trying to get down some of the NBA terminology and things like that, just show my skills to the best of my abilities."

"It went pretty good today, I found some things that I have to build on, things I have to work on, and I got to meet some guys who I haven't had the chance to play against."

Celtics.com: Do you have any other workouts lined up?

Hinnant: "Recently I got a call from the Clippers, and one other team. I've got to talk to my agent and see where he wants me to go. Whoever else calls, I'll be there."

Celtics.com: Having played at BC, you're probably familiar with the Celtics staff?

Hinnant: "Yeah. It's good to see Doc and some of the personnel, some of the guys you see on the bench on TV. It's great to talk with these guys, see what they think about you."

Celtics.com: What's the scouting report on you?

Hinnant: "For the most part, that I'm a pure point guard who can run a team. With time, and once I get the jitterbugs out of the way, everything else will come into play. I think I shot the ball fairly well today. I've been working on my shot the last couple of weeks. I think I was nervous once I saw Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge. You get nervous a little but, but I think I did pretty well."

Celtics.com: Do you keep up with mock drafts and where guys are projected?

Hinnant: "I kind of do, just to see how guys are doing in their workouts. I go to some websites to see who matched up against each other today, how it went, who got the better of who, you know? It's interesting, but somebody told me that everybody doesn't have to like you, only one team has to like you. I'm looking forward to playing against other guys and trying to play well."

Celtics.com: After the workout, is there anything that stands out that you need to work on?

Hinnant: My open court defense. In the halfcourt set, I can pretty much match up well with anybody. But in open court situations I have to do a little better job of keeping guys in front of me and making them take the shot that I want them to take.

Celtics.com: And how about that three-minute run?

Hinnant: "It's brutal, it's brutal. I've heard about it since last year. Jermaine Watson from BC told me about it last year. I tried to prepare myself for it, because I knew I'd have to do it. The last two days, I spent time with the family and wasn't able to run and prepare for it. I had a decent run, I was able to get 25 in, but given another opportunity, I could do a little bit better."
