Pre-Draft Workout Interview: Will Blalock

Celtics.com: So is this your first workout?

Blalock: "This is my first one. I've got Denver, then Utah coming up."

Celtics.com: How would you describe your game?

Blalock: "Getting into that green [the paint], making plays, getting to the rim, pulling up. I can pretty much do it all."

Celtics.com: Do you have an idea where you'll be drafted? Do you read the mock drafts?

Blalock: "Not really. I'm not a big Internet guy, because most of that stuff is full of it, you know? I've been through that in AAU and high school, how they rank kids, and I just don't see it. There's no way you can rank a kid based off what you see one day, and then what you see in another kid. It's all really he-said, she-said, it's not really based on reality."

Celtics.com: What was the workout like for you, being a local guy?

Blalock: "I was comfortable here. I'm from the Boston area, I played AAU for Leo [Papile], I felt right at home. I was nervous at first, but after my first couple of shots went in I was fine."

Celtics.com: So you grew up watching the Celtics, right?

Blalock: "My dad is a big time Celtics fan so I had no choice. Celtics, Red Sox, I live and die with these teams."

Celtics.com: So after working out with us, can you imagine playing for the Boston Celtics?

Blalock: "I've thought about it, and it would definitely be a lifelong dream. It will be tough [to make it], but it would be a dream come true, and I'd make the best of it."

Celtics.com: You were impressive in the three-minute run. It looked like you could have kept going...

Blalock: "I've been doing that in Chicago for the last three weeks, and I've been preparing mentally."

Celtics.com: Do any other teams make you do that?

Blalock: "No. It's the 'Danny Ainge Run'. I hear nobody else makes you do it. I've talked to other guys, and this is the toughest workout."
