D-League Update: Green, Jones Post Big Nights over Weekend

Gerald Green continues to make progress in his D-League assignment, and now after the trade with Minnesota, the Celtics are keeping their eyes on two prospects, as Dwayne Jones, Delonte West's former roommate and teammate at St. Joe's, was acquired from the Timberwolves in the deal as well.

Green had his best D-League outing to date on Friday night, posting 21 points and five rebounds for the Fayetteville Patriots in their 116-113 loss to the Roanoke Dazzle. He followed that up with an eight-point, six-rebound effort on Saturday night.

As for Dwayne Jones, the word on him is that he's a terrific rebounder, and a peek at the box score from Saturday night certainly validates that scouting report. Jones had a monster night on Saturday, scoring 16 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in 40 minutes for the Florida Flame in their 102-93 win over the Tulsa 66ers. Sunday, Jones grabbed seven rebounds but did not score, going 0-5 from the field in the Flame's 92-73 loss to Tulsa.
