Seven First Rounders to Highlight Shaw's Summer League

Among the first round draft choices scheduled to play are Washington's Jared Jeffries (Indiana) and Juan Dixon (Maryland), Milwaukee's Marcus Haislip (Tennessee), Orlando's Ryan Humphrey (Notre Dame), New York's Frank Williams (Illinois), Philadelphia's John Salmons (Miami) and Atlanta's Dan Dickau (Gonzaga).

The league will also give fans a chance to get their first look at

Darius Songaila, Boston's 2002 draft choice from Wake Forest. Songaila is one of more than a dozen 2002 draft picks scheduled to appear, a field which also includes Milwaukee's trio of Dan Gadzuric (Governor Dummer Academy, UCLA), Ronald Murray (Shaw), and Jamal Sampson (California), Washington's Ron Grizzard (Alabama), New Jersey's Tamar Slay (Marshall), and Philadelphia's Randy Holcomb (San Diego St.).

In addition, the Celtics' roster includes 2001 first round picks Kedrick Brown and Joseph Forte, as well as guard Omar Cook. The Wizards will feature 2001 first round picks Kwame Brown and Brendan Haywood, while the Sixers are scheduled to debut European star center Efthimios Rentzias. The Nets are set to include 2001 draft picks Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins and Brian Scalabrine on their roster.

Complete rosters for the Shaw's Pro Summer League will be released tomorrow.

The Shaw's Pro Summer League will be held at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium at the University of Massachusetts - Boston from Monday, July 15 to Sunday, July 21. The league will feature ten teams - Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, and Washington Wizards. The league format consists of two double-header sessions each weekday Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday each hold two sessions, a tripleheader and a doubleheader.
