Stellar Season Comes to an End
Erick Strickland, Rodney Rogers and Kenny Anderson were strong down the stretch, but Boston couldn't stave off elimination and lost 96-88 to New Jersey in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday. Anderson scored 18 points, and Rogers and Strickland combined for 27 points off the bench.

    Erick Strickland's free throws cut Boston's deficit to one in the early stages of the fourth quarter, but the Nets took off on a 20-1 run as the Celtics lost 103-92 Wednesday in New Jersey. Paul Pierce scored 24 points and Rodney Rogers added 20 off the bench. With the win, the Nets moved within one of the Eastern Conference title.

    The Celtics once again played comeback kids, erasing a deficit of as many as 15, but came up a bit short in Game 4, 94-92. Battie had 12 rebounds and five blocks in only 26 minutes as the Celtics won 93-86 in New Jersey to even the Eastern Conference Finals at a game apiece. Walker had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Boston.
