Stellar Season Comes to an End
Erick Strickland, Rodney Rogers and Kenny Anderson were strong down the stretch, but
Boston couldn't stave off elimination and lost 96-88 to New Jersey in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday. Anderson scored 18 points, and Rogers and Strickland combined for 27 points off the bench.

Celtics Pushed to the Edge
Erick Strickland's free throws cut Boston's deficit to one in the early stages of the fourth quarter, but the Nets took off on a 20-1 run as the Celtics lost 103-92 Wednesday in New Jersey. Paul Pierce scored 24 points and Rodney Rogers added 20 off the bench. With the win, the Nets moved within one of the Eastern Conference title.

Celtics Come Up Short
The Celtics once again played comeback kids, erasing a deficit of as many as 15, but came up a bit short in Game 4, 94-92. Paul Pierce, who led the Celtics with 31 points, missed two free throws in the final seconds, as the Nets held on. Antoine Walker also had a big night for the C's with 30 points.

Down by 21 at the end of three quarters, the Celtics pulled off the impossible, outscoring the Nets 41-16 in the final period to take a 94-90 win in Game 3. Paul Pierce led the way with 19 in the fourth quarter, as the Celtics not only got the win but also a place in the record books, as the greatest comeback story in NBA playoff history.

Battie Drives Nets Batty
"People have said we don't have interior defense," Antoine Walker said after Game 2 on Tuesday. "I think Tony Battie answered them tonight." Battie had 12 rebounds and five blocks in only 26 minutes as the Celtics won 93-86 in New Jersey to even the Eastern Conference Finals at a game apiece. Walker had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Boston.
