    Ten-time All-Star Kevin Garnett, flanked by Celtics captain Paul Pierce and new teammate Ray Allen, are introduced to the media at a press conference at TD Garden. Garnett was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves on July 31, 2007, in exchange for Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair and two future draft picks.

    The Celtics, showing off their latest version of the Big Three, open up the 2007-08 season at home. In his debut with the team, Garnett tallied 22 points and 20 rebounds in a 103-81 victory over the Washington Wizards. Garnett was the first Celtic player since Sidney Wicks (10/21/76) to post a 20-20 effort on Opening Night. This night also served as the platform for the Celtics to dedicate their famed parquet court to the late Red Auerbach.

    It didn’t take long for fans to latch onto the thought of Kevin Garnett wearing green. On Jan. 15, 2008 it was announced that his No. 5 Celtics jersey topped the NBA’s most popular jersey list. At that time, Garnett was also the leading vote getter for the 2008 NBA All-Star game that was scheduled to be played the next month in New Orleans.

    The Boston Celtics defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to take home their 17th World Championship. Kevin Garnett, playing in his first Finals, led the Celtics to the series-clinching victory by tying for the game high in scoring, with 26 points, and leading the contest in rebounds with 14. During a postgame interview on national television, an emotional Garnett uttered the now famous words, “Anything is possible!”

    Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen play in their 100th regular-season game together. The Celtics won that game, 89-84 over the Bobcats, to take the Big Three’s record to 82-18 in the regular season.

    Kevin Garnett banked in a shot off of an alley-oop inbounds pass from Rajon Rondo with 1.4 seconds remaining to push the Celtics to a 102-101 victory over the 76ers in Philadelphia. That shot preserved Boston’s winning streak, which was pushed to nine games.

    The Celtics swept the Knicks out of the playoffs with a 101-89 victory in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics to the win with 26 points, including 20 in the second half.

  • February 3, 2012

    Kevin Garnett, who scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a victory over the Knicks, becomes the third player in NBA history to grab 10,000 defensive rebounds in a career. KG joined Hall of Famers Karl Malone and Robert Parish in reaching that rare accomplishment.

    In a milestone night, Kevin Garnett reaches the 45,000-minute plateau while Paul Pierce participates in the 1,000th game of his career. The Celtics routed the Portland Trail Blazers on that night at TD Garden, 104-86.

    Kevin Garnett plays the main role in helping coach Doc Rivers win his 50th playoff game with the Celtics. Garnett scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Celtics eliminated the Atlanta Hawks in six games.

    In his 17th NBA season, Kevin Garnett eclipses the 25,000-point plateau during a blowout victory over the rival Los Angeles Lakers at TD Garden. Garnett became just the 16th player in NBA history to reach that plateau when he nailed an 11-foot jumper with 8:07 remaining in the second quarter.

    The list of incredible accomplishments continued to grow for Kevin Garnett on March 6, 2013, when he passed Wes Unseld for 10th place on the NBA’s all-time rebound list. Garnett surpassed Unseld with his 13,770th career board during the Celtics’ road victory over the Indiana Pacers.

    Kevin Garnett reached his final milestone in a Celtics jersey on March 13, 2013, when he passed Jerry West for 15th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Garnett scored his 25,193rd point during the second quarter of a blowout victory over the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden. Ironically, Paul Pierce also passed Charles Barkley that night for 20th place on the same list with his 23,758th career point.

    After a furious rally, which included 20 consecutive points by the Celtics during the fourth quarter, the Celtics fall to the New York Knicks and are eliminated from the first round of the playoffs. The loss marked the final game in a Celtics jersey for both Kevin Garnett and captain Paul Pierce. As Garnett walked off of the floor and shared an emotional moment with Doc Rivers, the crowd serenaded him with boisterous cheers.
