Yeah, you could say that.

Boston’s bench continued its stretch of phenomenal play Wednesday night against the Kings. The second unit helped the Celtics put the game away – in the second quarter.

Reserves accounted for 27 of Boston’s 37 points in the second frame. Jeff Green tossed in eight of those points while Jason Terry added seven.

The meat of the bench’s impressive performance took place in the middle of the quarter. A 14-1 run began with a reverse slam from Brandon Bass, who finished the flush after a pretty dish from Kevin Garnett. Leandro Barbosa then hit a runner off the glass and Jason Terry followed by pouring in five straight points. Bass and Barbosa capped the run with a jumper and a 3-pointer, respectively, to put the C’s on top 46-31 with 5:24 remaining in the first half.

It didn’t take long for Boston’s reserves to turn this one into a laugher. They did so by performing well at both ends. The Kings shot 0-of-3 from the floor during that stretch and committed three turnovers. Meanwhile, the C’s hit all six of their shots and committed just one turnover.

The Celtics led by just two points prior to the run, which began with 8:18 left in the second quarter. Less than three minutes later, this game was a blowout and Boston walked its way into the winner's circle.
