Hometown:
Northampton, MA
Pets:
I have a cat at each of my parents' homes: a calico named Susie, and a Himalayan named Pavito (which means "little turkey" in Spanish).
Favorite Restaurant:
I love all of the little Italian restaurants in the North End, and there's a great pizza place called Alex's in Andrew Square. Mike's Pastry's might have to be at the top of the list, though. I'm a sucker for a good cannoli.
The first five songs when I put my iPod on shuffle:
I don't know that I've had my iPod on shuffle in a while, but chances are it would come up with four country songs and a Hillary Duff song. That's right, I'm admitting to having Hillary Duff on my iPod.
Community Cause:
Of course, any community cause is a good one; but the organization RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) does some amazing things for victims of some very prominent, but often overlooked, problems in our society.
Childhood Memory:
When I was younger, my parents and I used to go to Ashfield Lake in Western Massachusetts. One trip, my dad was fishing, and my mom and I were lying in the sand when this big white duck approached us. We were feeding it Goldfish (the cracker, not the animal), and it was coming closer and closer to us to get the crackers. It came up so close that it ate a one off of my leg, and one right from my hand! I have loved ducks ever since.
Interesting Fact:
I love to bungee jump, though I've never bungeed in the United States.
Guilty Pleasure:
Army Wives and Gossip Girl are most certainly my guilty pleasures on TV.
Any Four People for Dinner...:
The four people I would have dinner with would be Will Ferrell, Bill Gates, Kate Moss and Lance Armstrong. It'd be an interesting comparison of people who have made their money from their humor, intellect, looks, and talent, respectively. I think we would all just sit on the floor in the kitchen, with the fridge door open, and snack on whatever we felt like passing around. The more casual the meal, the more honest the conversation, and you can't get any more casual than sitting in front of the refrigerator.
Mountains or beach:
As I've learned from Chantal, I can have the mountains and the beach together, so I'll take "both" as my response, and hope that some day I can visit a place like she described.
Proudest Moment:
When I graduated college. I finished my Bachelors degree in three years, at age 20. As proud as I was, there was one downfall -- I couldn't attend any of the Senior Week events because you had to be of legal drinking age. An unfortunate sacrifice; but worth it, I suppose.
Dance Song:
I will dance to anything country, and I do enjoy the occasional polka.
Career Goal:
I am currently working on my Masters in Business Administration, with an entrepreneurial focus. My hope is to utilize what I learn through that program, in addition to my non-academic experience, and start a successful fashion line with my Mom. It is a difficult and turbulent industry, but the bigger the challenge, the more rewarding the success.
Movie:
So many favorite movies: Anchorman, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Grandma's Boy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and all of the Harry Potters
Food:
Bacon. It's good by itself, even better with eggs.
Music:
My favorite music genre is country, and my favorite artist is Toby Keith.
Beauty Necessity:
I could not survive without mascara, it's the only way I look alive in the morning. Well, that and caffeine.
Fashion:
My favorite established designer is probably BCBG (for shoes) or Stop Staring (for dresses), but my favorite aspiring designer is my mother.
Book:
I love anything by Nicholas Sparks, but I think Rich Dad, Poor Dad is one of the most useful books I've read.
Actor/Actress:
Johnny Depp is my favorite actor. Not only is he talented, but he's extremely easy on the eyes.
Admire:
The cheesy, but accurate, answer to this is "my parents." I admire them both equally for different reasons. My dad is extremely driven and is always diving into new ventures, and he has a solid religious background that he has passed on to me. My mom is one of the most perceptive people I know. She's consistently there for me, no matter the circumstance, and always attune to what people need, an amazing quality to possess. I am blessed to have them both in my life.
Quote:
"If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane." - Jimmy Buffet
Celtics Player:
Ray Allen. Of course, I'm a UCONN alumna, so I may be biased...
Dream Job:
My dream job is to own my own business, and to have it running so successfully that I can take time to travel and to invest, and to enjoy life with my family. I suppose that means my dream job is retirement.
