Digital Content Engineer

This full time position will report to the Senior Director of Interactive Media. The Digital Content Engineer will manage the technical aspects of running streaming video events for the Celtics website and mobile application in a fast-paced, deadline- oriented environment. Audio/video engineering experience with TriCasters, production switchers, audio mixers and digital encoding of streaming video is required; candidate should have experience with HD camera equipment and related connectivity for audio and video for live streaming technologies, as well as an understanding of various video formats and codecs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage setup, connectivity, encoding, streaming and tear down of regular broadcasts, and manage required equipment
  • Configure, develop, test and troubleshoot all technical aspects of broadcast, including video input, audio, lighting and codec settings for live broadcasts
  • Run TriCaster, production switcher, audio mixers and related hardware/software
  • Monitor streaming feeds to/from LiveStream/UStream software and end-user experience
  • Create and maintain technical documentation/diagrams for all streaming setups
  • Track and report metrics for all live streaming events
  • Equipment inventory, maintenance and repair as necessary


  • Bachelor's Degree, New Media, Mass Communications, Broadcast, Engineering or Computer Science majors, preferred
  • Experience with streaming video codecs, formats, hardware and software including UStream, Livestream, NewTek Tricaster, HD cameras, etc. Videography/editing skills a plus
  • Experience with web development
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative, analyze and resolve problems proactively
  • Professional manner, independently motivated, positive team-player attitude and willingness to learn
  • Understanding of and strong interest in NBA basketball
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as determined by game/practice schedule
