CommUNITY Crew Event - Pine Street Inn

BOSTON (November 11, 2011) - Boston Celtics Director of Player Personnel Austin Ainge and 13 other members of the CommUNITY Crew volunteered Friday morning at Pine Street Inn, a facility that not prepares meals and provides housing for those in need.

Pine Street Inn prepares and serves meals for more than 3,000 people daily and also provides 700 beds in its emergency and transitional shelter and houses more than 600 tenants in its permanent supportive housing.

CommUNITY Crew volunteers were able to serve at the Inn by helping to arrange apartments in the newest permanent housing site in the South End. Volunteers unpacked, organized and set up 18 rooms which will house formerly homeless men and women in the coming weeks.
