CommUNITY Crew Event - Cradles to Crayons

BRIGHTON, Mass. - The Celtics CommUNITY Crew, in partnership with Arbella, and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation spent Wednesday morning volunteering at Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit that provides homeless and low-income children with clothing, toys and other items to help them thrive.

The CommUNITY Crew volunteers broke off into four different stations: clothing sort, outfits, toys and shopping. Volunteers of the first group inspected and sorted clothing that came in from donations in the community. From there, another group worked to create outfits for children and bagged them up to be added to the shopping area. Donated toys also had to be cleaned and sorted in order to move to the shopping area before the final group of volunteers shopped around the warehouse to fill specific orders from children in need.

At the conclusion of the volunteer event, it was revealed that the CommUNITY Crew dramatically surpassed its initial goals and was able to clean and sort 86 groups of toys, produce 95 bags of sorted clothes, create 123 outfits and fill 144 orders for children.
