CommUNITY Crew Event - Women's Lunch Place

BOSTON – On a cool, crisp autumn day, Boston Celtics Team President Rich Gotham, Assistant Coach Mike Longabardi, Head Trainer Ed Lacerte and other members of the Celtics CommUNITY Crew, in partnership with Arbella, spent their day volunteering at Women’s Lunch Place, a center that provides homeless or poor women with day shelter, nutritious food and services.

Volunteers prepared and served both the breakfast and lunch meal to more than 300 women. At any given time, you could see volunteers chopping vegetables, washing dishes and serving lunch restaurant-style.

“We all had a great time today,” said CommUNITY Crew member Patrick Lynch. “Women’s Lunch Place is a warm, inviting environment for women in need and I’m glad we were able to help out.”

The guests of Women’s Lunch Place were grateful to the CommUNITY Crew for dedicating their time to provide meals to them. Most of the guests receive their only food of the day from Women’s Lunch Place, so it’s important that volunteers continue to assist them on a daily basis.
