Stay in School
Founded during the 1990-91 season, the Boston Celtics Stay in School program presented by the Arbella Insurance Foundation is the longest running community initiative in American professional sports. Partnering with the Boston Public Schools, the program incentivizes student engagement on the middle school level. In addition to receiving personalized poster prizes for each month of perfect attendance, students can earn invitations to special assemblies with Celtics players throughout the course of the school year for maintaining an unblemished attendance record.
The program year culminates in a large scale celebration at Northeastern University's Matthews Arena where over 1,000 students get recognized for everything from writing and art to perfect attendance and academic improvement. The students are treated with a dunkshow from Celtics mascot Lucky, as well as educational pointers from local VIP's in the sports industry and beyond.
The Stay in School program is presented by the Arbella Insurance Foundation in partnership with the New England Sports Museum and Northeastern University.
