Read to Achieve is a joint program between the Boston Celtics and ReadBoston. Each month, the Celtics, led by spokesman Paul Pierce, visit the school who read the most books during the previous month.

Tony Delk and Joseph Forte represented the Celtics All-Star Reading Team on Thursday, April 4, when they visited the Dickerman School in Dorchester, MA.

Paul Pierce and his reading team were out in full force again on March 21, as they brought the Read to Achieve program to Mozart School in Roslindale.

On Feb. 28, 2002, at the Fuller Elementary School, Celtics co-captain Paul Pierce and forward Walter McCarty visited students for the monthly Read to Achieve event, along with fellow All-Star Reading Team members.

On Thursday, January 17th, 2002, Paul Pierce and Joe Forte joined the All-Star Reading team at the West Zone Early Learning Center at the Hennigan School in Jamaica Plain

On Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino joined Celtics co-captain and Read to Achieve spokesman Paul Pierce and his All-Star Reading Team at the Manning School in Jamaica Plain to read “The Grinch That Stole Christmas” and other books.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, The Boston Celtics All-Star Reading Team spent the morning reciting stories with students at the Beethoven School in West Roxbury as part of the NBA “Read to Achieve” program.

On Oct. 23, members of the Boston Celtics All-Star Reading Team, including Paul Pierce Antoine Walker, Coach Jim O'Brien and legend JoJo White, spent the morning of October 23rd reciting stories with students at the Hurley Elementary School in Boston to officially tip-off the NBA’s Read to Achieve Week.
