30 Children from Team Works Boston Given $100 Gift Cards Donated by Dick's
BOSTON (December 6, 2006) - Thirty children from Team Works Boston were selected for a holiday shopping extravaganza on Tuesday, December 5 at Dick's Sporting Goods in Natick. Dick's Sporting Goods donated one hundred dollar gift cards to thirty children who shopped at the store from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for the event. Celtics players Ryan Gomes, Tony Allen and Rajon Rondo were on hand to interact with the children and assist them with their shopping.
"Taking part in this event is both fun and very rewarding," Ryan Gomes said. "We all had a good time shopping with these children and getting everybody into the holiday spirit."
After the children finished shopping, Dick's Sporting Goods provided pizza to all participants. The Celtics players in attendance also signed autographs and posed for photos. "Shop with the Celtics" is a community outreach program that is part of the official partnership between the Celtics and Dick's Sporting Goods.
"Being involved in the communities in which we do business and especially with the kids in those communities is a fundamental part of who we are as a company. Through our partnership with the Boston Celtics we are proud to once again host this great community event," said Jeffrey R. Hennion, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc.
