Boston, MA (November 3, 2006) - Members of the Celtics Women's Group were joined by Celtics legend JoJo White and author Ellen Sabin today at the Bright Elementary School in Waltham for an interactive reading event featuring "The Boston Celtics Hero Book". Students from the Bright School took part in discussions geared toward stimulating their thinking about what makes a positive role model and how to emulate those characteristics.

"The Celtics Women's Group is excited to host this reading event with JoJo and Ellen", Judy Pagliuca, Celtics Women's Group Book Committee Co-chair, said. "The Boston Celtics Hero Book is a great interactive tool that entertains as well as stimulates thinking with respect to positive role models."

The Boston Celtics Hero Book, produced by the Celtics Women's Group, is the first Celtics themed children's book. The book helps children identify characteristics they admire in other people while encouraging them to emulate those in their own lives. The Boston Celtics Hero Book is available at select Borders and Waldenbooks locations and on celtics.com. All net proceeds from sales will go to support the charitable giving of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.

The Boston Celtics Hero Book was a collaborative effort between Ellen Sabin, an award winning author, and the Celtics Women's Group. The Boston Celtics Hero Book includes a chapter entitled, "The Celtics Celebrate Heroes" with contributions from Celtics players and legends including Red Auerbach, Danny Ainge, JoJo White, Paul Pierce, Doc Rivers and many others.
