Player Choice Grant

The 2011-2012 season marked the second consecutive year that the BCSF has allocated $50,000 as part of the Player Choice Grant. This grant allows all members of the Celtics roster to vote on the beneficiary of this donation.

During the 2010-2011 season, players chose to build two computer labs in Boston Public Schools. The Hernandez K-8 School in Roxbury, MA and the Edison K-8 School in Brighton, MA each received 25-plus brand new computers, Celtics graphics and other technological resources to help prepare their students for future success.

During the 2011-2012 season, the players chose to refurbish two indoor basketball courts in underserved communities. The refurbished courts are at the Lynn YMCA and the Bruce School in Lawrence.

January 10, 2013 - Celtics Family Helps Renovate Lawrence Gym
Members of the Celtics family hosted a gym renovation unveiling on January 10, 2013 at the Alexander B. Bruce School in Lawrence. This event marked the second gym renovation donated by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation as part of last season’s 2011-12 players’ choice grant.
