After a celebratory barbecue sponsored by Outback Steakhouse, Paul hosted the stars at The Rack for more fun and games including an auction of sports and Hollywood memorabilia.

"Earlier this month, I made a long-term commitment to the Boston Celtics. That's when I decided to make a similar commitment to the Boston community and began planning this event," said Pierce. "I want to make our city a better place to live by contributing to education, after-school activities and sports programs for youth,."

Mayor Thomas M. Menino congratulated Pierce for taking such an interest in our city's youth.

"But he is also an all-star in the community, where he is working to help children in Boston go on to higher education by supporting the City of Boston Scholarship Fund. Thanks to Paul and the other tournament participants, more young people will have the opportunity to attend college and turn their own dreams of success into reality."

Proceeds from today's event will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB), the Massachusetts Sports Partnership (MSP) and the City of Boston Scholarship Fund. The City of Boston Scholarship Fund was established by Mayor Thomas M.
