Heroes Among Us

The Heroes Among Us award is a program of the Boston Celtics, presented by the Mass State Lottery.

Eighth year assistant principal, Sean Kiley was making his rounds through the hallways. Suddenly, he was called on by a teacher that Chris, a freshman, was choking on an apple. Mr. Kiley quickly ran to help. He encouraged Chris to cough, but that didn’t stop the choking.

Immediately, Mr. Kiley began to perform the Heimlich maneuver on the 15 year old. Despite having never performed the emergency procedure, he successfully dislodged the apple. As Chris began to breathe again, he gratefully thanked Mr. Kiley for saving his life.
