Rushing to the unconscious man's side, Dr. Gill felt for a pulse when suddenly, the man stopped breathing. Without hesitation, Dr. Gill began administering CPR.

Someone then brought over an Automated External Defibrillator, and Dr. Gill immediately hooked the man up to the machine and "shocked" him back to life! Heroes Among Us

The Heroes Among Us award is a program of the Boston Celtics, presented by the Mass State Lottery.

On March 29th, nine year-old Richard Scott was walking home from school when he came across a five year-old girl who was standing in the pouring rain and crying. Concerned, he went over to see what was wrong. The pre-kindergartener said she was lost and afraid to cross the street. Richard comforted her, and told her he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

The two had been standing in the rain together for half an hour and Richard knew they needed help. He waved frantically to get the attention of a police officer, told him the situation, and the two were brought back to school and picked up by their parents.

For helping someone in need and demonstrating amazing compassion at such a young age, please welcome tonight's Hero Among Us, Richard Scott!
