Heroes Among Us

The Heroes Among Us award is a program of the Boston Celtics, presented by the Mass State Lottery.

Comcast cable workers, Jim MacConnell and Tom Masciulli [Ma-shu-lee] had just finished a job in the Woods Hole area of Cape Cod when an elderly neighbor frantically ran up to them, pointing and yelling that his house was on fire and that his wife was trapped inside. Jim and Tom immediately ran to the burning home and rushed inside. The house was fully engulfed in smoke and visibility was poor but they heard cries coming from the second floor. Without any regard for their own safety, they raced up the stairs and together carried the 88 year old woman to safety.

For their amazing bravery and poise under pressure, please join us in welcoming tonight's Heroes Among Us, Jim MacConnell and Tom Masciulli [Ma-shu-lee].
