The Boston Celtics and The Boston Celtics Radio Network have joined forces with the WIC Nutrition Program (Women, Infants and Children) to present "Healthy Hot Shots." The Healthy Hot Shots program promotes the importance of good nutrition and physical activity to preschool and kindergarten kids and their families.
Throughout the season, we will be targeting a new school each month, with appearances from the Celtics Dancers and Lucky. The last appearance will include either a Celtics legend or a current player.
At each appearance, we will randomly select a lucky child to be the Healthy Hot Shot of the Month. The winning child and their family will receive four (4) tickets to a Celtics game and will be highlighted on-air during a Celtics broadcast, on Celtics.com and live at the TD Banknorth Garden during a Celtics game.
WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, free nutritious food and access to health care to low- to moderate-income pregnant women, infants and children under five. WIC children enter school "ready to learn" and have better cognitive performance.
