Boston Celtics Celebrate Halloween by Visiting with Patients at Children’s Hospital
BOSTON (October 31, 2005) – The 2005-06 entire Boston Celtics team celebrated Halloween this afternoon by visiting with patients at Children’s Hospital Boston, a focus partner of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.
Celtics All-Star captain Paul Pierce visited Children’s Hospital along with teammates Tony Allen, Marcus Banks, Mark Blount, Ricky Davis, Dan Dickau, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Orien Greene, Al Jefferson, Raef LaFrentz, Kendrick Perkins, Justin Reed, Brian Scalabrine and Delonte West.
“It is very rewarding to spend time with these brave children,” Pierce said. “It brings me joy to see that we were able to help these patients participate in a holiday that they cannot celebrate like other kids.”
Celtics players signed autographs and posed for photographs with young patients who are hospitalized and cannot trick-or-treat this Halloween, and passed out special gifts to the children including Celtics stickers, wristbands and posters.
“The Celtics are proud to have Children’s Hospital Boston as one of the focus partners of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation,” said Wyc Grousbeck, Boston Celtics Managing Partner and Governor. “As an organization, we are dedicated to improving the lives of our young fans, and are pleased when we can provide them with unique opportunities such as we did today.”
