Boston Celtics and the Red Cross to Team Up to Raise Funds for Tsunami Victims

Red Cross to collect donations at the next four Celtics home games

BOSTON, MA (December 30, 2004) - To help raise funds for the victims of the recent tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia, the Boston Celtics are teaming up with the Red Cross. During four upcoming home games, volunteers will be stationed throughout the FleetCenter to collect any monetary donations fans may wish to make to help the American Red Cross in assisting the victims.

In addition, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation will make a donation and will match donations made by fans. Fans wishing to make contributions may do so at the following games: Friday, December 31st vs. Washington; Monday, January 3rd vs. New Orleans; Wednesday, January 5th vs. Golden State and Friday, January 7th vs. Detroit. Fans who wish to make a donation but will not be attending one of the four games listed above should contact the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay or log on to www.bostonredcross.org.
