Citizens Bank Brings Boston Celtics Summer Caravan to McGinn Park in North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN - The Citizens Bank Summer Caravan stopped at McGinn Park in North Kingstown Thursday,August 14th bringing the Boston Celtics to more than 100 local children. The Citizens Bank Summer Caravan is a series of free, interactive basketball clinics designed to expose youth to NBA basketball in a fun, summer setting.
Celtics rookie Brandon Hunter made his second community visit since joining the team. He was joined by Celtics veteran forward Walter McCarty and legend JoJo White to teach basketball fundamentals to the children through interactive drills. The players also spoke to the participants on the importance of staying in school, setting and achieving goals and how to be a better player both on and off the court.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to reach out to the local community and have a positive impact on youth," said McCarty. "I look forward to working with Citizens Bank this season to bring the Celtics to the community."
All of the children who participated in the Citizens Bank Summer Caravan receive a T-shirt, autographed photos of the players and ice cream. The traveling Summer Caravan, now in its sixth year, has reached thousands of children throughout New England.

The Citizens Bank Summer Caravan will travel to Nashua, New Hampshire on August 15th. It made its first stop in Medford, Massachusetts on August 13th. Citizens Bank is the Official Bank of the Boston Celtics.
