Acquired in a trade along with guard/forward Kelenna Azubuike from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the 24th, 33rd and 34th overall picks of the 2012 NBA Draft on July 28th 2012.

2012-13 SEASON:

Played in 77 game (55 starts)...averaged 7.9 points on .438 shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 26.3 minutes per a starter, averaged 8.3 points on .434 shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 block in 28.0 minutes per game...also shot .764 from the free throw line, the second highest among all rookie centers...among rookies with a minimum of 70 games played, ranked 1st in offensive rebounds per game, 2nd in defensive rebounds per game, 2nd in total rebounds per game, 2nd in blocks per game and 7th in points per game...also recorded seven double-doubles, which was tied for 4th among all NBA rookies...scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his fourth NBA game on Nov. 5 at L.A. Clippers...came off the bench to score 14 points, pull down 10 rebounds (four offensive) and block two shots in 31 minutes against Portland on Dec. his first career start, scored a career-high 20 points on 9-15 (.600) shooting while adding three rebounds at Boston on Dec. 19...set a career-high in blocks with four and tallied 13 points and six rebounds at Sacramento on Jan. 14...grabbed a season-best 14 rebounds and added 13 points on 6-12 (.500) shooting and three blocks in 38 minutes at Utah on Jan. 19...averaged 9.1 rebounds during a nine-game stretch from Jan. 9-26...tallied 16 points on 7-10 (.700) shooting, nine rebounds, four assists and one block versus San Antonio on Feb. 13...pulled down a season-high six offensive rebounds (seven total) and scored 16 points against Orlando on Feb. 23...scored four points in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge for Team Shaq at All-Star Weekend...scored 10-19 points 26 times and 20 or more points once...led the team in rebounds 11 times, assists once, steals three times and blocks 33 times...missed games from Nov. 7-13 with a non-displaced fracture of left orbital bone/concussion...missed game on March 4 due to illness...was NWT once on the season...was placed on the Inactive List four times for the season.
