Omri Casspi Injury Update

After being diagnosed with acute appendicitis Saturday in Orlando at the beginning of the Cavaliers current three game road trip (Orlando, Miami, Chicago), Cavaliers forward Omri Casspi had surgery at the Orlando Regional Medical Center to remove his appendix Saturday night. The surgery was performed by Dr. Michael L. Cheatham. Casspi traveled back to Cleveland today, accompanied by Cavaliers Head Athletic Trainer Max Benton, and was examined at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. William O'Brien, who confirmed the success of the surgery. Casspi will continue his recuperation from the appendectomy, with no timetable established yet for his return to play. His status will be updated as appropriate.
