Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival
The ninth annual Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Health will welcome more than 3,200 athletes on 228 teams from 10 different countries to Cleveland this Thursday, July 3rd – Sunday, July 6th. Celebrating internationalism, youth diversity and sportsmanship, the festival gives participating athletes the chance of a lifetime to compete against top teams from across the country and around the world.
The four-day event features three tournaments: the Cleveland Cavaliers Continental Cup (basketball), the Cleveland Indians Continental Cup (baseball) and the Adidas Continental Cup (soccer).
The Cleveland Cavaliers Continental Cup takes place throughout the weekend at the Lou Higgins Center at Baldwin Wallace University and Berea-Midpark High School. On Sunday, July 6th, the competition makes its way to Quicken Loans Arena where several championship games will be held throughout the day. The day-long action tips off at 8:30 a.m. and all tournament games are free and open to the public. For a complete tournament schedule, fans can visit the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission website.

The opening ceremony for the Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival will be held Thursday, July 3rd at 8:00 p.m. at Finnie Stadium at Baldwin Wallace University. The ceremony includes an Olympic-style parade of nations to honor all of the athletes in attendance from across the globe and will be emceed by Cavs public address announcer Olivier Sedra. Cavs mascot Sir C.C., Lake Erie Monsters mascot Sully, and Cleveland Gladiators mascot Rudi will make a special appearance to participate in the festivities. The evening will conclude with a Hamburg Fireworks extravaganza around 9:15 p.m.
Prior to the start of the opening ceremony, fans can enjoy an entertainment festival beginning at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the many activities and booths available, the Cavs Summer Caravan and the Lake Erie Monsters & Cleveland Gladiators Splash Tour will be on site to provide truckloads of fun including portable hoops, interactive games, and special appearances from the Cavs Scream Team. Fans can catch the Cavs Summer Caravan at the Baldwin Wallace University tournament site all weekend to ensure the good times keep rolling!
