Game Summary

The defending NBA Champion Cavaliers hit the road for the first time this postseason on Thursday night when they face the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round. Tipoff from Bankers Life Fieldhouse is at 7:00 p.m. (ET).

With Monday's 117-111 victory in Game 2, the Cavs have won five straight games against the Pacers, dating back to the 2016-17 regular season.

Furthermore, the victory in Game 2 was the Cavs’ 9th straight home win over the Pacers (regular and postseason), which is tied for their longest active home winning streak versus a single opponent (also nine straight vs. Orlando).

Through the first two games of this series, the Cavs are shooting a combined .545 (84-154) from the field, including .407 (24-59) from the three-point line. In Game 2 against the Pacers, Cleveland shot 42-76 (.553) from the field, 13-31 (.419) on three-pointers and 20-23 (.870) from the free throw line.

Going back to the 2015 postseason, the Cavs hold a 26-4 playoff record against Eastern Conference opponents, which includes an 11-3 mark on the road.

Cleveland has never lost a series when leading 2-0 (12-0).

Indiana hopes to break the recent trends as the series shifts back to the Hoosier state. The Cavaliers have won two of their last four games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Prior to that, the Cavs had lost 10 straight games at Indiana.

The Pacers All-Star forward Paul George has once again taken his game to another level through the first two games of the series averaging 30.5 points.

Series Stats

The Cavaliers won the first two meetings at The Q, 109-108, in Game 1 and 117-111 in Game 2.

For the first time in franchise playoff history, three Cavs players scored 25 or more points (Irving-37, Love-27, James-25) in Game 2. The last time three teammates had at least 25 points in any NBA playoff game was on 4/27/14 (Harden-28, Parsons-26, Howard-25 for HOU in OT). The last time a trio each scored 25 or more points in an NBA playoff game in regulation was on 6/19/12 (James-25, Wade-25, Chalmers-25 for MIA). Irving (14-24 FG), Love (6-7 FG) and James (11-20 FG) also became the first three teammates to each score at least 25 points while shooting .550 from the field in a playoff game since Indiana did it on 5/4/93 (Reggie Miller, Rik Smits and Detlef Schrempf of Indiana). (Elias Sports Bureau)

Tristan Thompson became the franchise’s all-time playoff leader in offensive rebounds in Game 2 (185 OREB) and has also pulled down double-digit boards in both games of this series (11.5 RPG).
