Cavs Host SPECIAL EDITION of Annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage presented by FirstEnergy Solutions

CLEVELAND, OH - December 8, 2011 - The entire Cavaliers organization is hard at work preparing to tip off the season! Just announced, the Cavaliers 2011-12 regular season is set to begin at home on Monday, December 26th vs. the Toronto Raptors, but not before the team hosts fans at The Q in grand fashion with a special edition of the annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage presented by FirstEnergy Solutions on Sunday, December 18th at 1:00 p.m. and a preseason game vs. the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, December 20th at 7:00 p.m.

The SPECIAL EDITION of the annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage will feature everything that makes attending a Cavaliers home game an incredible fan entertainment experience - AND IT’S FREE! In addition to the intra-squad scrimmage being the local introduction of the team, fans will be treated to the full-blown production of the Cavs’ award-winning game presentation featuring lights-out player introductions with Q-Tube flames. The Cavaliers entertainment teams, the Cavalier Girls and Scream Team will perform, mascots Moondog and Sir C.C. will stir things up, and in-arena hosts Ahmaad and Nicole will oversee all the festivities. There will also be many other special fan activities and team interaction elements and giveaways both on and off the court during the afternoon.

“The start of the NBA season is just as much about the Cavs getting back on the court ready to work hard, as it’s about thanking our fans for the great relationship we have with them. We want them to know their loyalty and support is something we never take for granted and we understand it’s on us to continue to earn that support,” said Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena President Len Komoroski. “Thanks to FirstEnergy Solutions for joining us and helping make this unique and incredibly fun afternoon possible for everyone.”

All afternoon fans can enjoy FanFest activities and $1 dogs and $1 sodas while taking in the excitement of being back at The Q for Cavs basketball. Doors open at noon and fans are invited to arrive early to enjoy a playground of interactive games and activities for every age.

The FanFest lineup includes:
