Cavaliers Ask Fans to Vote for the Top 10 Moments
Opportunity to Win Cavaliers’ “Ultimate Fan Moment” Grand
Vote Today and Let the Debate Begin
Since the Cavaliers’ inaugural 1970-71 NBA season, for more than three decades the team has been making memories for the fans of northeast Ohio. During the 2004-05 season, as the Cavaliers host their 35th Anniversary Celebration, fans will have the opportunity to vote on what they consider are the Top 10 Moments in Cavaliers team history.
Is it a “Miracle” moment during the 1975-76 season when the Cavaliers played in their first NBA playoff series? How about the 1986 Draft when Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper and Mark Price all became Cavaliers? Consider the 2003 Draft lottery when the lucky ping pong balls awarded the Cavaliers the #1 pick. Or, perhaps it’s a top moment that could happen here and now, in any second at any game. Let the debating begin— every vote counts to determine the Cavaliers’ Top 10 Moments.
A listing of 35 Top Moments were compiled by committee of qualified Cavaliers’ “experts” that included the “Voice of the Cavaliers” Joe Tait, Cavaliers legend Austin Carr, and Cavaliers’ head statistician, Chuck Broski— who have a cumulative 89 years with the team. The Top 35 Moments will be posted on clevelandcavaliers.com where fans can cast their vote beginning Monday, November 1st through Thursday, April 14, 2005. The 35 Top Moment selections will be listed in chronological order and will have a description and photos to recapture each moment’s place in time. In addition to online voting, fans can fill out ballots at Gund Arena during Cavaliers games. Every voter will choose what, in their opinion, are the Cavaliers top three moments. Fans can also exercise a “write in” vote for up to three top moment choices. The voting results will be calculated into the Top 10 Moments.
By fan consensus, the Top 10 Moments will be determined and announced on April 14, 2005 during the final Hardwood Classics game of the season, the Cavaliers vs. New York.
Everyone who votes will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes to win the Cavaliers “Ultimate Fan Moment” grand prize. The “Ultimate Fan Moment” winner will actually revel in a combination of many experiences that will take place on Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 (Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics). Grand prize includes:
Suite party for 18, food and beverage (no alcohol) included
Opportunity to rebound for the team during pre-game warm-ups
Opportunity to be on the court with the team during starting line-up introductions
One game-worn article from a Cavaliers Hard Wood Classics uniform
A LeBron James Hardwood Classics bobble head
A Cavaliers Hardwood Classics t-shirt and hat
