CLEVELAND, OH - November 1st, 2010 - -
Cavaliers Hall of Fame radio announcer Joe Tait experienced a syncopal episode (he passed out) at his home yesterday. He was transported to Medina Hospital where initial studies indicated a potential blood clot to the lung. Joe was then transferred to the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland for further evaluation and treatment overnight. A blood clot to the lung was confirmed and Joe received additional treatment in the ICU there. He also underwent an “umbrella” filter procedure this afternoon to help prevent further clots from reaching his lungs. That procedure went well and Joe is resting comfortably. He is expected to remain at the Cleveland Clinic for several days and his previously planned double bypass and aortic valve replacement surgery will be scheduled after further evaluation.
