Cavaliers to Play in Orlando, Boston Summer Leagues

CLEVELAND, July 3, 2003 -- The Cleveland Cavaliers will participate in the six-team Pepsi Pro Summer League, which will be played in Orlando, Fla., from July 8-12. The team will then travel to Boston for the 10-team Reebok Pro Summer League from July 14-20.

The Cavaliers will play five games in Orlando beginning on Tuesday, July 8 vs. Orlando at 7 p.m. ET. In Boston, the team will play six games starting on Monday, July 14 vs. Boston at 8 p.m. ET.

The Cavaliers are anticipating participation from 15 players. Cavaliers veterans Darius Miles, DeSagana Diop, Carlos Boozer and Dajuan Wagner will be joined by first-round (first overall) selection LeBron James (’03 Akron Saint Vincent Saint Mary HS) and second-round draft selection Jason Kapono (‘03 UCLA), along with nine free agents.

The free agent invitees are: Roberto Bergersen (Boise State ‘99), Robert Conley (Clayton State College (GA) ‘99), Robert Jackson (Marquette ‘03), Dan Miller (Notre Dame ‘03), Geoff Owens (Pennsylvania ‘01), Hollis Price (Oklahoma ‘03), Kristaps Valters (Skonto (Latvia)), Jerod Ward (Michigan ’98) and Wesley Wilson (Georgetown ‘03).

Please note that any player’s participation in any specific summer league game is not guaranteed.
