“Signing Lucious continues our goal of adding quality, veteran players with playoff experience to our team,” said Paxson. “He has been to the NBA Finals twice and been a very consistent contributor throughout his career. He will add quality to our backcourt at both positions.”
Harris played in 69 games (15 starts) last season with New Jersey and averaged 6.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.8 minutes per game. An 11-year veteran, Harris has played in 54 playoff games, including back-to-back trips to the NBA Finals as a member of the New Jersey Nets in 2002 and 2003.
“You have to honor him. You have to guard him," said Paxson. "He is a nice rotation player [who played] on a team that went to the finals two years in a row. With him and Eric [Snow] and Jeff [McInnis] at the two guard spots in a rotation of veterans and young guys, there is a nice blend of experience and youth.”
He has career averages of 7.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per game.
