CLEVELAND, OH - July 25th, 2011 - The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for the perfect combination of the best hip-hop dancers and most enthusiastic entertainers in Northeast Ohio to be members of the dynamic Scream Team for the 2011-12 season. With their tumbling and break-dance stunts, head spins and dance moves that seem to defy gravity, the Scream Team is a central part of the Cavaliers high-energy game entertainment repertoire.
Auditions for the 2011-12 Scream Team will take place Saturday, August 13th at Quicken Loans Arena. Judges will be looking for the most energetic, exciting and extraordinarily talented performers with crowd appeal, showmanship, personality and incredible individual talent. Dance and/or performing experience is preferred but not required. Dancers selected as semi-finalists will be invited back for a second audition to take place on Sunday, August 14th. Details for the call back will be announced at the conclusion of the audition.
Registration is $15 and begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th and auditions begin at 10:00 a.m. Requirements include that candidates must be at least 18 years old at the time of auditions (there is no maximum age limit.) All candidates should provide a non-returnable 4x6 headshot and full body photo for identification purposes only. Pre-registration ends August 10th and can be done online at cavs.com.
Scream Team members must have reliable means of transportation and flexible schedules for rehearsals, games and appearances for one full year, including pre-season and post-season events. All team members must be available for Scream Team training camp to be held in late August.
